Fully inComprehensible Insurance

We believe that an independent British nuclear deterrent is an essential part of our insurance against the uncertainties and risks of the future.

There we have the heart of Blair's argument for continuing with the UKs WMD.

It is a direct damnable lie to say it is independent. The operation of our WMD is totally dependent on America.

"Insurance against the uncertainties and risks of the future" is about the weakest possible argument for spending £75 billions of taxpayers money. It is the kind of insurance policy that if you actually need to use it, it literally costs the earth.
"Uncertainties and risks of the future" covers just about everything. Trouble is, if the UK needs it, why does Iran not need one too? Or north Korea? or Zimbabwe? Or Burma?
