Letter to the Observer
In his article (Only science can save us from climate catastrophe, January 20) the political philosopher John Gray makes his case that the greens are no better than George W Bush on the basis of the following fallacies: Guilt by Association, Red Herring, ad hominem, Appeal to Ridicule, his ignorance of physical facts, and the Straw Man (twice). This is pretty good going for any newspaper article, but coming from a philosopher, it is one for the history books.
