Hitchhiker's Guide to swine flu: Don't Panic

Useful CBC precis of the Center for Disease control here: Swine flu: FAQ

My reading of it is, on the small amount of data that we have at present is:
Don't Panic!
in big friendly letters.

This happens from time to time. 900 cases in Mexico, 6.6%% mortality. It looks as if it has human-human transmission, but outbreaks of swine flu seem to fizzle out. It is susceptible to common antiviral medication.

We can help all flu to fizzle out if we Stay Home if Ill!
