Monday is skater hockey night. Got there early tonight as no surgery this evening. I am slowly learning - have been doing it for 3 years. The main handicap - apart from not being able to make the ball stick to my blade - is an overwhelming sense of inferiority compared to the speed and agility of lads 35 years younger than me. But they are very tolerant, and cheer encouragingly if I happen to push the ball in the right direction.
I wish there was a team of Old Fools that I could play with though. Skater hockey is apparently the fastest growing sport in the Eastern hemisphere, so maybe one day I will get my wish - if I live long enough.
