Darling little sum for green initiatives

Alistair Darling will announce £500m of further investment in green initiatives in an attempt to shore up low carbon industries hit by the recession.

million sounds a lot. But everything is inter-connected, and all numbers should be expressed in context. The amount devoted to saving energy and saving us from global warming is 0.05% of the amount that the little Darling has spent on bailing out RBS and Lloyds TSB.

0.05%.

Not a lot now is it?

500 million for fixing the real world, 1 trillion for clearing up the mess left by mad banksters intoxicated with the exuberance of their fantasy world of making money from debt.

Hey ho. I'm going outside to water the vegetable patch.
